A este grupo pertenece la notable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/index.php\/2017\/10\/05\/runaway-train-legado-filmico-cannon-films\/\">Runaway Train<\/a>\u00a0que comentamos anteriormente en Espectador Errante, y Street Smart protagonizada por Christopher Reeve y Morgan Freeman.<\/p>\n<p>Reputados cineastas colaboraron con Golan y Globus, siendo algunos de ellos Andr\u00e9i Konchalovski (en la citada Runaway Train), Barbet Schroeder (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dHdg_bgjZ_A\">Barfly<\/a>), John Cassavetes (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=X1HKmvSICFE\">Love Streams<\/a>) y Jerry Schatzberg por Street Smart. Schatzberg ten\u00eda cierto reconocimiento por pel\u00edculas como <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UrSQnL7fCXg\">P\u00e1nico en Needle Park<\/a>\u00a0y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nYZPkHzf48Q\">Espantap\u00e1jaros<\/a>. Con Street Smart identific\u00f3 la posibilidad de realizar un proyecto que tambi\u00e9n era de inter\u00e9s de Reeve, quien logr\u00f3 desarrollarlo previo acuerdo con The cannon Group para realizar la infame <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kLqYbNdxQoY\">Superman IV: En Busca de la Paz<\/a>. El otrora hombre de acero buscaba realizar proyectos m\u00e1s acordes con su talento interpretativo, como ya lo hab\u00eda hecho antes en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XXpYOTSe6Us\">Monse\u00f1or<\/a>\u00a0y, principalmente, en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qcjIJ1YKQJU\">Los bostonianos<\/a>\u00a0de James Ivory.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4919 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/screen-shot-2016-05-04-at-6-03-34-pm.png?resize=840%2C508\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"508\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/screen-shot-2016-05-04-at-6-03-34-pm.png?w=916&amp;ssl=1 916w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/screen-shot-2016-05-04-at-6-03-34-pm.png?resize=300%2C181&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/screen-shot-2016-05-04-at-6-03-34-pm.png?resize=768%2C464&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/>Street Smart es la historia del periodista Jonathan Fisher (Reeve), quien inventa una entrevista con un ficticio chulo de las calles de Nueva York. Este art\u00edculo le otorga fama hasta que su historia se enreda con la de \u201cFast Black\u201d (Morgan Freeman), un alcahuete de verdad que es acusado de homicidio. La mentira conduce a Fisher al submundo del hampa, de la violencia y del machismo de \u201cFast Black\u201d. El director Jerry Schatzberg nos sit\u00faa como espectadores en las historias de dos sujetos que de igual manera mienten e infringen la ley. \u201cFast Black\u201d est\u00e1 en el terreno de la criminalidad, pero Fisher hace algo muy parecido escud\u00e1ndose en su rol de hombre de las comunicaciones.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4920 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/nqlg1gdm76zqjllzls4o4wflhyx-1024x576.jpg?resize=840%2C473\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/nqlg1gdm76zqjllzls4o4wflhyx.jpg?resize=1024%2C576&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/nqlg1gdm76zqjllzls4o4wflhyx.jpg?resize=300%2C169&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/nqlg1gdm76zqjllzls4o4wflhyx.jpg?resize=768%2C432&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/nqlg1gdm76zqjllzls4o4wflhyx.jpg?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.espectadorerrante.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/nqlg1gdm76zqjllzls4o4wflhyx.jpg?w=1680&amp;ssl=1 1680w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/>Morgan Freeman obtuvo su primera nominaci\u00f3n al Oscar como Mejor Actor Secundario gracias a su rol de \u201cFast Black\u201d. El actor ya llevaba un buen tiempo en Hollywood, pero esta pel\u00edcula lo puso en el mapa, acerc\u00e1ndolo al protag\u00f3nico de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TQ3wXC5jqKE&amp;t=30s\">Conduciendo a Miss Daisy<\/a>\u00a0junto a Jessica Tandy. Otro talento que se dio a notar con esta pel\u00edcula fue Kathy Baker, cuyo rol de la prostituta Punchy conmueve, a la vez que realiza un retrato bastante crudo del tipo de mujeres dedicado al \u00e1mbito de la prostituci\u00f3n y que en muchas ocasiones est\u00e1n presionadas por la violencia de hombres como \u201cFast Black\u201d. En el filme tambi\u00e9n sobresale Christopher Reeve, actor que construye el papel de un oportunista que al final aprende la lecci\u00f3n con varios costos asociados. Reeve, quien sufri\u00f3 un tr\u00e1gico accidente en 1995 que lo dej\u00f3 paralizado y que finalmente falleci\u00f3 en 2004 ten\u00eda carisma de sobra para convertirse en un gran actor de car\u00e1cter (algo que demostr\u00f3 en Lo que Queda del D\u00eda de James Ivory y en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8AQ2GlTw7x4\">Deathtrap<\/a>\u00a0de Sidney Lumet), pero el papel de Clark Kent\/Superman siempre ensombreci\u00f3 gran parte de su carrera.<\/p>\n<p>Street Smart es el periodismo de la calle y de c\u00f3mo los c\u00edrculos intelectuales observan a \u201cFast Black\u201d como un pintoresco personaje de la gran ciudad. Sin embargo, Black no es m\u00e1s que un asesino mis\u00f3gino que manipula a otros para conseguir sus prop\u00f3sitos. Fisher no llega a dicho rango de maldad, si bien su cobard\u00eda y miedo ante la posibilidad de perder su trabajo y reputaci\u00f3n lo hace inventar los que otros quieren leer. Jerry Schatzberg realiz\u00f3 una pel\u00edcula que respira la parte fea y violenta de Nueva York, una que no se ve en los folletos tur\u00edsticos. Se puede apreciar un esfuerzo por mostrar esta fauna local integrada por personas que han perdido su humanidad producto de la necesidad de fama, control y dinero. Estamos ante una excelente pel\u00edcula que nos permite ver hasta d\u00f3nde estamos dispuestos a llegar como en el caso de Fisher, a la vez que demuestra que cuando uno juega con fuego es muy f\u00e1cil quemarse y de la peor forma.
